Lily the ladybug loved music. She would spend hours listening to the crickets chirp, the bees hum, and the wind whistle through the trees. But one spring, the music stopped. The crickets were silent. The bees were gone. The wind blew cold and empty.
"Where is the music?" Lily asked.
A spider spinning a web shook her head. "The crickets left. They said the garden wasn't safe anymore."
Lily flew to the edge of the garden, past the broken fence, to a field where the crickets had gathered. They stood in silence, their fiddles tucked under their legs.
"Why won't you play?" Lily asked.
